walking without tracking miles

I walked today and a couple of days ago, but outside without the Garmin. A few miles, not long walks.

crickey! december tomorrow

My goal for the next month will be to get back to a regular schedule, stave off injuries, and pick a new race to train for in 2010. I am considering one in March and one in July, or possibly just one in May.

3 miles

a mile or so yesterday (around the park and elementary school near us)

torrential rains

Went walking with a hooded rain jacket and rain boots, but still had to turn back...soaked through the small bit of uncovered jeans. The baby was dry and just fine in his jogging stroller with rain cover.

So...maybe 3/4 of a mile today? It was all I could do. Weather was wretched all day.

getting back to walking...maintenance plan for this week will be 3 mile walks

my left hip hurt a bit for most of today's walk, but not once I stopped...I went pretty slow...

The race was awesome. I walked way faster than I have in training--just over a 15 minute mile average for the half marathon.

That's right. Eleven miles. I am ready to kick butt at the half marathon in...two weeks!

Two bottles of Cytomax were my only fuel, so two or three bottles and a sandwich should be good for the race. I am so craving protein now...fried eggs maybe.

three and a half weeks to go

I can't believe the race is in less than four weeks. I'm excited. I think I'll be able to do it. I've been varying my training and getting outdoors more. The heat is a challenge. But having a jogging stroller is a huge help. With a sunshade for the baby.

ETA: The Garmin also rocks. Easy to do a couple of walks and report on my total day's milage. Woooooo!
